Young Maria Francesca Cabrini was born in 1850. She was the youngest of 13 children. Her mother was 52 at the time of her birth. She became a missionary in the Americas and started many schools, hospitals, nurseries and orphanges both in the Americas as well as Europe. She was the first American citizen to be canonized.
