The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe (also sometimes called "the Empress of the Americas") is a 16th century Mexican icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is one of Mexico's most popular religious and cultural images. The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated on December 12th, commemorating the traditional accounts of her apparation.
